Gearbox Recording Studio Rates
The Gearbox is set up to run efficiently. The total cost of completing a recording project with us is almost always lower or the same as it would be in other recording studios that may have only a fraction of the expertise. In order for this to happen, we must start with a discussion of your budget.
If you are on a tight budget, please communicate what that budget is and what you wish to accomplish within that budget. We can then provide you with a recording production plan that will be right for you.
Our rates for recording studio time, audio mixing, and audio mastering can be built in to your project independently or grouped together depending on what services you are looking for.
Studio Rate – $75/Hour
3 Hour minimum booking
If you have an unlimited budget, feel free to ask for an hourly rate.
Please consider that it will always cost more when there is not a thorough discussion of a plan.
We will help work out the best plan meet the needs of your project.
Lockout Rate – $500/8-Hour block of studio time
Setup and breakdown are part of the session.
Hours can be flexible and it helps to book the studio as far in advance as possible to allow for a timely and comprehensive rendering of your project.
Audio Mixing Rate – $85/Hour
It’s challenging to estimate how long a mix will take because each individual mix varies greatly. Some mixes are quick and easy while others are more involved.
On average, you can expect at least 2 hours per song, and we will always do our best to work within your budget.
Audio Mastering Rate – $100/Hour
We estimate about 1 hour of studio time for every 10 minutes of program material, then add an extra hour for full lengths or a half hour for an EP.
So, a 40-min CD usually takes 5 hours to complete. Please keep in mind that this is just an estimate.
